The Skype calling experience for iOS just rocketed into the realm of HD, at least if you own a member of Apple’s newer crop of devices. Skype for iOS has been updated with HD video calling for the iPhone 5s, iPad Air, and iPad mini with Retina display.
A few other welcome additions come for all iOS users. Namely, the ability to “receive chat messages even when Skype is closed” (a roundabout way of introducing push notifications) as well as faster message syncing across devices.
